RoadSurge.com V3 Shift Box Simple Menu

Here are all the menu items for the V3 Shift Box Simple. To access the menu, you must first have your ignition on and the engine not running. Hold the down shift button for a few seconds and the display will show "SETUP". You are now in the menu system.

To move to the next menu hold the up or down shift buttons until the "wait display" appears. This is the LED display rotating 1 LED at a time around the display.

To exit and save the current settings, hold the down shift button until the display shows the "wait display" and the LED's rotate 2 full revolutions. The word "SAVED" will show on the display when all settings have been saved.

P P R (Pulses Per Rev)
This is the division number for the total pulses the ignition system outputs per revolution. In a 4 cylinder DSM, the division will be 3. There are 3 ignition pulses that happen per revolution. One pulse is when 1st and 4th cylinders fire, then one pulse when 2nd and 3rd cylinders fire, and once more on 1st and 4th to complete the 1 full revolution. This calculates to a division of 3.

Shift Delay
The amount of time after a shift is made before another shift is allowed. The default is 500 milliseconds. Setting this number too low can cause your transmission to "slip" to neutral since the fluid pressure did not get high enough in the valve body to complete the last shift.

Debounce
Used to block unwanted shifts due to electrical noise in the vehicle. The way this works is the code looks for the button to be depressed for X number of milliseconds. If the debounce code has determined that the button is actually depressed and it is not electrical noise, it will process it in 1/2 the value set.

Auto Upshift
This will turn on or off the auto up shift feature. A value of 1 is On, and a value of 0 is off. When set to 1 (ON), the shift box will shift at the set RPM's in each gear based on the auto shift RPM programmed.

1 AS (1st Gear Auto Up Shift RPM)
The RPM the shift box will shift at in 1st gear if the Auto upshift feature is enabled. In 1st gear, you may want to set this 200 RPM lower than your desired shift depending on how long it takes for your transmission fluid pressure to fully activate the shift.

2 AS (2nd Gear Auto Up Shift RPM)
The RPM the shift box will shift at in 2nd gear if the Auto upshift feature is enabled.

3 AS (3rd Gear Auto Up Shift RPM)
The RPM the shift box will shift at in 3rd gear if the Auto upshift feature is enabled.

1 DSP (1st Gear Down Shift Protection RPM)
Sets the maximum RPM the shift box is allowed to down shift into first gear from 2nd gear. Setting the RPM in this section too high can cause damage to your vehicle if a down shift is made at a high RPM. Recommended maximum setting is 2500 RPM.

2 DSP (2nd Gear Down Shift Protection RPM)
Sets the maximum RPM the shift box is allowed to down shift into first gear from 3rd gear. Setting the RPM in this section too high can cause damage to your vehicle if a down shift is made at a high RPM.

3 DSP (2nd Gear Down Shift Protection RPM)
Sets the maximum RPM the shift box is allowed to down shift into first gear from 4th gear. Setting the RPM in this section too high can cause damage to your vehicle if a down shift is made at a high RPM.

Bright
Adjusts the brightness of the LED display.
